This website was originally designed to support the students and parents of room 205 at George Washington Academy (GWA) in St. George, Utah. However, given the craziness of COVID-19, I’ve decided to start working with other 5th grade teachers to post resources that we can all use to support our students. Is there a resource (video, worksheet, etc.) that you wish you had for your class? Shoot me an email (click here) and I’ll see what I can do.
Room 205 is where it’s at. In our class we do hard things, care about and support one another, get up and dance, read good books, write great stories, and prepare for the future.
There are content specific resources found by going to the “curriculum” portion of this website. However, I have found that my most common requests for resources come by way of spelling lists, calendared events, and our weekly schedule… so those three things are linked here.

“Thank you for trusting me with your child. I love teaching 5th grade. I love seeing the light bulb turn on for these kids as they learn about U.S. history, create chemical reactions, and start doing math using letters. While I don’t take myself too seriously, I consider the education of your child a great responsibility and I promise to do my best to help them succeed–not just this year, but in life.”
